DR. WILL FOLBERTH, PSY.D.
I specialize in working with individuals who have been impacted by stressful or traumatic life events. I’m passionate about providing compassionate care to children, adults and families. I treat anxiety disorders, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, behavior problems in children and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
I received my doctorate (PsyD) in clinical psychology at the Rutgers University, and I am a licensed to practice in the state of New York. I’m an Associate Clinical Professor at the New York University School of Medicine, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in evidence-based trauma treatment at Northwell Health. I also completed advanced training rotations at Lincoln Hospital, Mt. Sinai Morningside, New York-Presbyterian Hospital and the Jewish Board of Family and Child Services. I hold a Bachelors of Arts degree from Duke University.
My services and therapeutic sessions are couched in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and I incorporate mindfulness practices into my work to enhance care. I’ve received specialty training in trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and effective strategies for supporting LGBTQAI+ teens and adults. I strive to combine warmth and compassion with effective treatment strategies in order to help those I work with to heal and thrive. I am continually inspired by their courage and willingness to change, and feel grateful for the opportunity to be of service in this capacity.
